See-through walls? What year is it? Well, the future is here, and Primos is leading the way.

Ground hunting blinds can be extremely effective. Whether you’re hunting turkeys or whitetails, a good ground blind can get you into places a tree stand often won’t.

Primos first made the Double Bull blinds, which became famous for their effectiveness. They were made by hunters for hunters and it showed. But Primos took it up another notch when they introduced the Double Bull SurroundView Series, and quite frankly, these things are mind-boggling. They practically offer a one-way mirror that allows you to hunt from a ground blind with zero blind spots.

If you hadn’t heard of all the buzz around these blinds after the Shot Show and ATA Show, you must live under a rock. We all saw the coverage and what the revolutionary blind entailed. But I recently got one and wanted to check it out and see if it’s really worth the investment.

So, after playing around with the blind for a few weeks of turkey hunting, what are my thoughts?

My initial feelings were strange. Hunting’s all about concealment and being hidden, and sitting inside this blind, you feel so exposed you almost can’t stand it. It literally feels like you’re sitting in the wide open for animals to pick you off. But after encountering a few turkeys, that’s not the case at all.

After you walk around the blind and try to look in yourself, you see why. You really can’t see through the fabric. To be honest, though, I’d be cautious about blind placement. With a lot of sunlight and the wrong background, I believe there would be times when you’d be able to catch some slight movement on the inside. I believe that’s why this SurroundView 270 is such a great option, though. It has one rear blackout wall that you can place on the side that best fits to your advantage. Just be smart about where you place your blind, and it shouldn’t be an issue.

With see-through walls, you’d think it would be some cheap mesh material. I was pleased to see this material is very thick and durable. It feels as if it would withstand harsh weather and general wear and tear.

Just think back to all the hunts, bowhunting especially, when the animal you’re after pops up out of nowhere because your blind walls didn’t allow you to see it. Those days are over. You can now spot all the movement you missed before, but still remain just as concealed.

The included carry bags, however, could probably use some improvement. I don’t foresee it holding up for multiple seasons, which could eventually be an issue.

All in all, though, this blind will absolutely increase your hunting capabilities. Once you start using one, it’ll be a struggle to go back to anything else.

Similar to trail cameras or lighted nocks, the technology is there, so why not use it to help your odds of harvesting that big buck this fall?
